Some of my thoughts for 2022 and what I want to get done:

  • If I aim for a cello grade each year, my grade four exam will be coming up in May. However, my teacher has injured herself, and won’t be doing any more teaching this year. So, unless I can find a new teacher here on the Sunshine Coast, I know it will be difficult to pass this exam.
  • I’m going to take another crack at a low-FODMAP diet for 8 weeks. I really enjoy cooking varied food, and low-FODMAP is very limiting. However, over the holidays and for much of 2021 Q4 I was not feeling great, thanks to the food I’ve been eating. I think it’s worth trying again for this long stretch to see if I can feel better.
  • More board gaming! One of my favourite pastimes is having friends over and playing board games. We’ve collected a few more over Christmas, and just before that we finished our 8-game Scythe campaign with 6 players. I’m really hoping my Kickstarter copy of Europe Universalis: The Price of Power reaches me before July this year.
  • I’m thinking again about exercises of some sort. The pull-up bar in our bedroom is helpful, but maybe I need to run a few 2 week experiments. E.g., get up at 5:30 and go for a run for 2 weeks, or visit the mini-gym near our apartment in the afternoon every second day for 2 weeks. I don’t need to commit long-term, but it’s worth trying something.
